International Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Project Engineer / Environmental Test Engineer
The candidate must be eligible for UK MoD clearance for access to the appropriate security level.
The salary on offer is around £40k + Outstanding benefits.
Job Description:
An Environmental Engineer / Environmental Test Engineer is required to fulfil existing and future contracts in the development and testing of some of the worlds most advanced future defence systems.
Typical Duties include:
- Providing expertise in Writing Environmental Requirement Specifications (ERSs), including Proving Plans and Proving Requirements in support of product development.
- Providing assessment of all relevant environmental requirements and their interpretation into design and test levels for the complete product and for its sub-systems, while maintaining overall consistency of logic and approach across projects
- Review requirements, test processes, test parameters in compliance with customer requirements and national & international standards.
- Technical inputs to environmental programme - preparing compliance statements for Project, sub-system Design Authorities and the Customer.
- Applying technical knowledge in a range of simulation techniques (including data acquisition, signal processing & analysis tools) as well as climatic, shock & vibration and Structural Mechanical & fatigue testing
- Providing expertise in the measurement and analysis of operational environments including field trials and flight data analysis) in support of Requirements Specification development
- Providing expertise in requirements management in support of Certification
Academic Qualifications:
An appropriate HND or Degree
Experience Requirements:
- Thorough understanding environmental life cycle
- Strong man management, leadership and communication skills.
- In depth knowledge of DEF STANs and related specs relevant to discipline.
- Knowledge of Vibration and Climatic test techniques and systems
- In depth Knowledge of Test and Measurement Instrumentation
- Knowledge of signal processing and analysis
- Good communication skills all levels both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and within budget limits
- Health and Safety knowledge
- Good team working skills essential
- Self motivated
