World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Stress Engineer.

The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after).

The rate on offer is negotiable.

Job Description:

All applicants must have security clearance but would wait for SC if not already obtained
To conduct structural work reporting to a Chief Stress Engineer or Team Leader on national or multi national projects. The role is within the Mechanical Analysis Group which is approximately 30 strong and all the analysts are expected to do a mixture of analytical work and documentation. Degree level with a minimum of ten years experience preferably in the aerospace or defence industry covering the following:-

• Structural and dynamic analysis using classical and finite element methods preferably using Patran and Nastran.
  
• Derivation and specification of loading data from Technical Specifications.
  
• Preparation of Structural Integrity Plans.
  
• Preparation of Structural design records.
  
• Preparation of Structural Test Requirements.
  
• Interfacing with Sub-contractors and partners
  
• Carry out failure investigations.
  
• The role requires a breadth and depth of experience both in terms of structural analysis and documentation

• Carry out structural tasks under your own initiative
  
• Good communication skills.
  
• Good presentation and report writing skills.
  
• Ability to solve complex technical problems.
  
• Adaptability and resilience.
  
• Able to work to exacting timescales
  
• Ideally have security clearance or be able to be cleared.
