Highly successful Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Weapon Systems Architect based from either the companies Stevenage or Bristol site (depending on your preference).

The candidate must be eligible for UK MoD clearance for access to the appropriate security level.

The salary on offer is £50k - £55k + Outstanding benefits.

Job Description:

The purpose of the role is to lead the development and definition of the System Architecture.

This must be achieved within a short timescale and by careful appreciation of all stakeholder viewpoints (including senior members of the customer and user community) to meet the emerging company and customer aspiration for rapid development.

Duties include:

Technical:

• Act as the technical lead and contributor to ensure delivery of high quality outputs from the System Design team within time and cost budgets.
  
• Provide technical expertise into projects within the business area.
  
• Help to focus the strategic direction of the company in the land and NEC domains.
  
• Develop and manage the technical interfaces to customers, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective and timely resolution of technical issues and to deliver on contract to time and cost.
  
• Innovate to develop solutions to emerging problems and technical/programme challenges arising through the assessment phase and support D&M bid activities.

• Supervise the activities of the distributed team working on Weapon System Design related activities. Day-to-day people management for the delegated project teams.
  
• Support the Head of Systems Design: Future Systems and the wider SDV function in application of systems architecting best practice across the business.
  
• Direct/lead and motivate staff to ensure the required deliverables are achieved and to maximise their potential.

• Strong team leadership skills to be able to lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams of senior individuals and develop more junior members of the team.
