World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage is currently looking to recruit a Quality Engineer (Software / Systems) on a contract basis.

The candidate must be eligible for UK MoD clearance for access to the appropriate security level.

The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after).

The rate on offer is negotiable.

Job Description:

• Provide independent advice, assurance and visibility that Technical Directorate development activities and deliverables meet the needs of the business and customer requirements and assisting the management of any associated issues and risks.
  
• Identification of opportunities for improvement in the processes for the development, management and assurance of development activities and their application to project programmes.
  
• To assist the development and enhancement of Technical processes and methods to ensure excellence in Technical activities.

• Definition of plans that enable cost effective Quality Assurance activities to be planned & implemented on Technical Directorate project activities.
  
• Provide both Technical Function Management and Quality Management with an ‘independent’ view on the quality of Technical Directorate deliverables, associated quality risks and areas for improvement
  
• Support and deploy assurance activities including audits and assessments on products / projects (including suppliers) and manage non conformance follow-up and continuous project assessment.
  
• Implement assurance activities for project deliverables based on the achievement of defined and agreed criteria that are appropriate to deliverable and its intended use.
  
• Identify potential improvements to the development processes being applied to projects at both the project and company process level. Support the development and implementation of action plans for the delivery of improvement opportunities identified.

• Provide support within the Technical Directorate to establish product design and development processes that are simple, reliable, documented, devoted to performance achievement and customer satisfaction.
  
• Assist Technical Quality Management in the identification and management of functional and capability improvements.

• Quality Systems / Software professional, experienced in process-based integrated management systems in systems & software design and development environment
  
• Degree or equivalent with excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  
• In-depth knowledge of applicable systems and software processes including a detailed knowledge of national and international standards & assurance requirements.
  
• Trained and experienced auditor / assessor.
  
• An understanding of new and appropriate technologies.
