Senior Human Factors Engineer position currently available for a highly successful defence organisation based in Bristol.
The candidate must be eligible for UK MoD clearance for access to the appropriate security level.

Job Description:
To undertake a range of Human Factors programme- and research-based activities associated with the development of complex systems in accordance with all relevant processes and quality procedures. Provision of specialist technical advice and support in the domain of Human Factors across projects and functions as appropriate
Duties include:
- Plan, manage and deliver assigned HF projects or work packages, and make an input as required to cross functional projects/investigations, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan
- Develop HF solutions to meet project requirements in line with technical standards and quality processes, and carry out design appraisals in assigned area to ensure all standards are maintained
- Evaluate HF technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions
- Provide effective support to customers in assigned areas, delivering HF solutions to meet the customers needs and requirements
- Support the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids in area(s) of expertise to facilitate the development of the highest quality bids
- Make HF engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
- Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development
- Identify Human Factors related issues/opportunities in order to challenge, and update the system design solution for the benefit of the end user
Experience required:
- Degree, or equivalent, in human factors/ergonomics or psychology or related engineering discipline, ideally with further qualifications related to Human Factors/Ergonomics, or Psychology (as appropriate).
- Capability/experience working in a Human Factors role
- Proven ability to conduct, and support work packages in one or more of the key disciplines of Human Factors: Human Factors Integration, Human Factors Engineering; Human Performance Assessment, Human Factors Research, Experimental Design, Conduct and Assessment.
- Good understanding of all aspects of Human Factors principles, techniques, and technologies
