World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a LSAR Logistics Engineer.
Please Note: The candidate must be eligible for UK MoD clearance for access to the appropriate security level.
The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after).
The rate on offer is negotiable.
Job Description:
- Maintain PAAMS(S) System and C2 LSAR and ISP Element Plans for the PAAMS(S) FSED and FOS contracts, up-issuing as necessary
- a. Liaise with VLS, Munition, C2 and MFR Design Authorities on the provision of LSAR data and Element Plans,
- Provide tailored LSAR output data in Microsoft office format for use by the Customer or internally
- Support meetings with the Customer (PPO and MoD) and BSSL on LSAR/Support Solution related topics
- Answer queries and undertake small support studies related to the PAAMS(S) FSED LSAR data and Support Solution
- Assist in the development of Enabling Contract Bids related to PAAMS(S) FSED/IP LSAR and Support Solution
- Develop and maintain the PASS Logistic Management Plans, up-issuing as necessary
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the PASS Logistics Information Plan (LIP), which will define the information exchange requirements of the PASS contract taking into consideration the User, Customer and subcontractor needs.
- Assist in the evolution, implementation and upkeep of the PASS Logistics Information Database (LID) taking cognisance of the existing FSED LSAR
- Provide PASS LID output data in Microsoft Office format for use by the Customer or internally.
- Structure the collation and generation of outputs from the LID to enable calculation of PASS project performance indicators
- Undertake trend analysis and monitor PASS Support Solution performance
- Identify areas for continuous improvement of the PASS support solution aimed at either reducing cost or improving support solution performance
- Liaising as necessary with Support Solution modellers and equipment design Authorities
- Assist in the answering of technical queries and non conformances relating to supply support, asset management or supportability aspects of equipment raised by the User, Customer, etc.
- Provide logistic analysis input into PASS Exceptional Task activities, including pre task scoping activities
- Act as cost package leader for the above work and being accountable for spends, forward planning and assisting with cost to completion/work load forecast activities as required.
Essential Competencies
- Ability to use Omega PS LSAR
- A good understanding of the scope of In Service Support, (preferably in the Naval environment although this is not essential) both in Industry and the User community
- The ability to understand logistic problems and utilise problem solving techniques to provide practical solutions in a timely manner and improve associated support processes
- Ability to manage and prioritise own work load such that outputs and the alternative support solutions are provided in a timely manner
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Competent written and spoken communicator
Desirable Competencies
- Familiarity with Def Stan 00-60 and MIL STD 1388 processes
- Familiarity with the MoD Logistics Coherence Information Architecture
- Familiarity with the Support Options Matrix
