MASS Wins the Contract for Three Additional H-TRAP Systems

January 2008
MASS has won the contract for the manufacture and supply of 3 additional H-TRAP systems for installation on the Hunt Class Minehunters operated by the Royal Navy.

The H-TRAP system interfaces with the NAUTIS 3 command system and serial navaids to provide data logging and real-time graphical and numerical displays for the messages captured. The system is also designed to interface with the Seafox expendable, remotely operated underwater vehicle currently being introduced into service with the Royal Navy.

The H-TRAP systems provides the operator with a means of independently validating the performance of the existing ships equipment, a mechanism for improvement of the accuracy of mine location and can act as an aid to the integration of new equipments.

TRAP is housed in a ruggedised laptop running the Microsoft Windows operating system. A comprehensive ship interface cable set provides local connectivity.
