MASS was one of the first signatories to the Corporate Covenant and is a proud supporter of our Armed Forces. The company held a family fun day at its Cambridgeshire headquarters in conjunction with this year's Armed Forces Day on 27 June. As MASS employs Reservists and a large number of ex-military personnel, it was fitting to support Armed Forces Day in this way. Staff regularly raise funds for charities, and in recent years money has been raised for Help for Heroes, Combat Stress, and the Forces Children’s Trust amongst others.
A team from MASS recently completed the Pathfinder March raising over £500 for SSAFA, the armed forces charity. The Pathfinder March is a commemoration of the role played by the Pathfinder Force in the Second World War, and comprises a 46 mile route taking in the four main airfields used by the Pathfinders from 1943-45: Wyton, Warboys, Graveley and Oakington. The aim was to complete the 46 miles in less than 20 hours, starting at 4am and finishing before midnight.
Ashley Lane, Managing Director of MASS, said "With a third of our staff coming from an ex-military background, being one of the first companies to sign up to the Corporate Covenant was a natural choice. Charitable support for Service personnel and their families is a logical extension, and we are pleased to support our staff raising funds for such worthwhile causes."
