Mass Consultants Ltd (MASS), a Cohort plc company, has been awarded a nine year in-service support contract valued at over £50m by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The contract, for the continuation of work undertaken for the MOD by MASS since 2000, involves a wide range of specialist technical tasks including operational analysis, studies, IT infrastructure management, software engineering, and the management of a secure MOD facility. MASS will be leading a team that includes MBDA, Hewlett Packard and Carillion Planned Maintenance.
The contract runs until 2019, and has an optional five year extension period. It is based on an innovative Target Cost Incentive Fee arrangement in which MASS and the MoD share the benefits of efficiency savings delivered during the course of the contract. The way we work will be governed by a Memorandum of Partnering Principles, which will help ensure that both parties continue to work in the open and flexible way which has characterised the last ten years.
Ashley Lane, Managing Director said:
"The award of this important contract is a testament to MASS’s excellent performance over the last ten years, and in particular our flexible partnering approach to deliver what the customer needs. The contract provides long-term stable income for MASS, underpinning its future performance."
