INTRODUCTION
The reputation and success of MASS is built on our record of finding innovative
solutions to complex problems, combined with an ability to successfully
design, prototype, test and manufacture electronic and software solutions
in extraordinarily tight timescales.
In the area of Specialist Electronic Systems, MASS has developed a
wide range of specialist experience and capability and a growing proportion
of MASS business is centred on communications, with particular strengths
in the design and development of communication
distribution systems, recording
systems and cryptography, and a long record of spectrum monitoring products and services and research
and development.
As a company, we have a well-established track record of delivering
across the whole spectrum of communications design – from initial technical
studies right through to low volume production and in-service support. We
are also knowledgeable in the CESG accreditation process, having recently
achieved HIGH accreditation for our encryptor and fill gun:
Whilst much of our work is centred on the aerospace sector, including
the ability to qualify avionic equipment for flight certification,
we also have designed equipment for military vehicles, manpack and shipboard use.
Current customers include:
- Sea King IPT - Design and delivery of
the ATRACKS helicopter tasking and data system. This system
includes a modem, encryptor and fill
gun designed entirely in house by MASS. ATRACKS is now formally accepted into service
- ITT Defense UK - Design and delivery
into service of a Radio Control and Display Unit (RCDU) for the Bowman Air Radio system
- ITT Defense UK - development work for JTRS, the future radio system for US forces
- An Air Platform IPT - Design and delivery of
various avionic equipments, including a Radio Control and Display System (RCADS)
- Ofcom – Technical studies using MASS
skills in RF analysis, particularly man-made noise and interference studies, and includes the Autonomous Interference Measurement System (AIMS)
- PITO – Study work for the Police
- Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB)
