For more than 30 years, we have been trusted by the UK Ministry of Defence to support the delivery of joint command training through the Integrated Warfare Centre. Exercise JOINT HORIZON 2026 is a recent example of that enduring partnership in action, demonstrating our ability to design, integrate and deliver collective, strategic and operational training that helps assure the readiness of the UK’s Joint Force.
Delivered alongside the Integrated Warfare Centre, JOINT HORIZON 2026 supported the certification and operational readiness of the UK’s Extremely High Readiness Joint Force Headquarters. The exercise provided a demanding, immersive and realistic environment in which the headquarters could plan, coordinate and operate under the pressure, ambiguity and information complexity of real-life operations.
When delivering exercise, MASS’ strength lies in bringing together the right blend of people, process and technology. Our teams combine years of military service and operational experience with specialist exercise design, simulation, information environment emulation, role play, scenario development, exercise control and lessons support. This enables us to create training environments that reflect the complexity of modern crisis and conflict, while remaining focused on the outcomes Defence needs to achieve.
For JOINT HORIZON 2026, we worked alongside industry partners – Conducttr, GDAK and other partners to create a coherent training environment that included simulated military and civilian activities, dynamic engagements, information environment stimulation and a simulated military common operating picture.
This end-to-end capability allowed us to accurately bring the customer’s requirements to life using scenario planning, integrated technology and data in order to support live exercise control, while capturing learnings to inform future readiness. By managing these elements as one integrated service, we were able to help the JFHQ train as it operates and give commanders a credible environment in which to test decision-making, command-and-control processes and operational resilience.
Colonel Dom Davey, Exercise Director, commented on the exercise, saying:
“JOINT HORIZON 2026 has delivered the certification of the UK’s Extremely High Readiness Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), representing a pivotal milestone in assuring the continued operational readiness of this critical capability. The enduring partnership between the Integrated Warfare Centre and MASS has been instrumental in shaping and delivering this flagship Tier 3 collective training event. The combined strengths of uniformed personnel and MASS staff have provided a powerful mix of experience, currency, technical expertise, and professionalism, enabling the delivery of training of exceptional quality and scale,”
Keith Norton, Managing Director at MASS, said: “JOINT HORIZON 2026 shows what MASS does best: bringing together experienced people, proven delivery methods and new technology to create realistic, challenging and integrated training for Defence.
“Our long-standing partnership with the Integrated Warfare Centre reflects the trust placed in MASS to deliver training that is operationally credible, technically robust and focused on readiness. By combining the insight of former military professionals with synthetic environments, simulation and specialist support, we help the UK MOD prepare its people and headquarters for the realities of modern operations.”
The successful delivery of JOINT HORIZON 2026 reinforces our position as a trusted partner to the UK MOD for end-to-end strategic and operational training.
